ADHOC Interior Textiles

Jan-May 2019

We’re so proud of the one-of-a kind, custom, handwoven textiles we designed and wove for Virginia Bray, owner of ADHOC in Penticton, B.C. The series of eight curtain panels function both as a decorative, textured backdrop and as a series of functional change room curtains. Woven using natural undyed, unbleached linen, hemp, cotton and wool intermixed with details of plant dyed wool (marigold, goldenrod and onion skins) spun by Larissa’s grandmother, Ilse Beringer, the panels offer privacy and translucency of light simultaneously. Throughout the store you’ll find chunky cotton/linen chair covers and our classic pillows slips on down filled cushions. The combination of white walls, eclectic lighting, handmade plywood shelving and independent fashion labels create the perfect back drop for Cloth Tone’s unique aesthetic to shine.

OSMICS for CLOTH TONE

Ochre Teal is a Cloth Tone scent, designed by Jen Weih of Osmics. It captures the aromatic flora and scent of summer breeze along the shores of Okanagan Lake and up into the sandy hills of ponderosa pine and sage. The subtle blend of cedar, balsam, bergamot and sage is a perfect companion for the body and home- not only does it purify the air and awaken your senses - it chases away the moths in your cloth cupboards as well!

Community

IMG_7753_2.jpg

Our interdisciplinary studio embraces local & ethical textile production within a growing community dedicated to sustainable, long-lasting goods that resonate with our day-to-day experiences.

We are exploring ideas around creating lasting goods with community members and artists and are looking forward to 2019 where we plan to work with the Lake Country Art Gallery on a project around these ideas.
