Textiles in the City

We are incredibly excited about the timely reemergence of textiles in art and design practices. Both locally and internationally the renewed interest in the culture of textiles from a historical and contemporary perspective is palpable. Whether tracing themes of gender, identity, consumerism, myth, materialism, colonialism, collectivity or psychological impact, the language of TEXTILES matters!

Here is a list of a few of the current exhibitions, symposiums and people that are contributing to this larger conversation about inter-disciplinary cloth culture in Vancouver and beyond!
